Lekert, Hirsh

(1879-1902)
   Russian revolutionary. A bootmaker by trade, he was a member of the Jewish socialist party, the Bund, in Dvinsk, Kovno, Yekaterinoslav and Vilna. He was executed for shooting the governor of Vilna because he had ordered the flogging of 26 demonstrators on 1 May 1902.
